"Violet Jane"
Original Design

"Violet Jane" is an original design 19-inch folk art style doll that has was created to give her a vintage look that resemblies a doll I had when I was a little girl. She is not intended as a child's play doll, but rather a decoration for your home.

Her body is made of unbleached muslin with soft-sculpted hands and feet. Her head, arms and legs have been coated with many layers of gesso that has been sanded between each layer in order to achieve a smooth finish.

She is hand-painted, then antiqued to give her an aged look, and has several layers of acrylic sealer applied over the paint for protection.

Violet's lavender polka-dot cotton dress trimmed with off-white lace has been tea-dyed to give an aged appearance. Her muslin slip and pantaloons have rows of pintucking and her pantaloons are trimmed with off-white lace to match her dress. All clothing is non-removable. Her hair bow is made of the same dress material that has been ripped to give it a "frayed" look as if she was a well-loved and often played with doll of a little girl years ago.

She would make a great addition to fill the "little space in your home" or to add to your doll collection.
